The principles of selecting a topic for finance dissertation


Formulating a topic for a finance dissertation which is new, intriguing, interesting and easy topic all at the same time can be a very difficult activity and students usually fail to come up with a topic which has all the above mentioned characteristics even after spending several weeks. Even when students manage to come up with two or three topics, there is no guarantee about the approval of these topics. Several principles should be followed in order to formulate a good topic for a dissertation in finance. First the topic should be relevant to your academic strengths and you should avoid topics which are based on your weak points at all cost. You should get all the help you can for developing the topic and seek help from the supervisor, university professors, peers, senior students, friends and family members. Get inspiration from previously completed researches and search for the internet for hot discussions on various issues of finance dissertation topic. Getting ideas from magazines, periodicals and newspapers also proves to be quite beneficial. A general principle is to develop at least four to five topics so that at least one of them is approved by the supervisor.
